Managing digital infrastructure, real-time station telemetry, environmental databases, and GIS mapping platforms.
IT & Telemetry Department
The IT & Telemetry Department manages the digital backbone orchestrating automated real-time telemetry from national air quality and noise monitoring stations across all Egyptian governorates directly to the Ministry of Environment and Cairo University data servers.
5-Stage Environmental Telemetry & Data Pipeline:
- Continuous Acquisition & Sensing: Automated sensors capture pollutant concentrations and digitize readings inside on-station programmable data loggers.
- Encrypted Telemetry Transmission: Data packets are securely transmitted every 15 minutes over encrypted GSM/VPN cellular links to central servers.
- Automated Ingestion & Validation: Central server engines execute automated sanity checks, range verification, and calibration flag filtering.
- SQL Warehousing & AQI Indexing: Validated data is archived in relational SQL warehouses with automated computation of the Air Quality Index (AQI).
- GIS Spatial Dashboards & Reporting: Real-time mapping onto interactive GIS layers and automated generation of daily/monthly executive environmental reports.
